Investigation for patentability
Conducting investigations for patentability of a technical solution is aimed at ensuring that a given solution constituting an invention or a utility model is novel, i.e. is not an element of the state of the art existing prior to the application filing as well as is distinct in terms of its level of inventiveness, i.e. is not deemed by an expert as obviously resultant from the existing state of the art.
When such registerability investigation has been conducted, unnecessary costs are avoided which would otherwise be incurred should it happen that the invention in question might not be patented.
