Transit of waste through Poland and BDO register

It is quite common for foreign transport companies to provide waste transport services transiting through the territory of Poland. Services are provided to a foreign entity and no waste is imported into our country. The transport of waste from one country to another only passes through Poland without stopping.

In the situation described above, pursuant to art. 50 sec. 1 point 5) b) of the Act on Waste, the entity transporting the waste should register in the BDO register. For the transit of waste through the territory of Poland without the required entry, a fine between PLN 2,000 to PLN 10,000 may be imposed, according to art. 195 of the Act on Waste.
