You Can Settle Tax Later
Pursuant to the Polish Act Personal Income Tax and the Act on Corporate Income Tax, the annual PIT form as well as the CIT form should be filed to the tax office and the tax should be paid before the end of April. Due to coronavirus epidemic, you can miss that deadline without any consequences.
Corporate Income Tax
The Minister of Finance has issued the regulation, according to which the deadline for most legal persons is extended until May 31st, 2020. Some entities will have even more time. For tax payers who in 2019 had only incomes exempted from taxation or revenue from public benefit activity constituted 80% of their total activity, the deadline to settle taxes is until 31st July, 2020.
Personal Income Tax
For natural persons, another regulation is applied. The deadline in theory has not been extended, but tax payers can be late without any consequences (no tax offence proceedings, neither any interest for delay). The delay cannot be longer than until May 31st, 2020. Such regulation has been included into special purpose act against the coronavirus.
It should be noted, that May 31st, 2020 is on Sunday. But in this case does not apply the rule that if tax deadline is on a free day, it is moved to the first working day after it. So the final and non-extendable deadline for tax settlement is May 31st, 2020.
